Warning – Scam Emails Pretending to be from Parish Priests or the Diocese
Parishioners please be aware there have been a number of scams email pretending to be from Parish Priests, asking for payments to be made or for vouchers to be purchased on behalf of a priest.
The latest emails are not from our official @rcdop.org.uk domain but even if they appeared to be - do NOT RESPOND to the emails.
Our Diocesan policy is that we will never email you to make any purchase or bank transfer on our behalf.
If you do get such an email, please contact your Parish Priest preferably by phone or create a new email to the Parish (i.e. do not reply to the one you received).
A good general principle is that you should not respond to unsolicited emails of this nature.
For over 70 years St Joseph’s has been at the heart of this local community: built up by the hands and the prayers of its people, the Parish has been a home to generations of the Catholic community and given many of its sons to priestly service.
That same spirit characterises St Joseph’s Parish to this day: welcoming, generous and good-hearted. We are blessed to be placed under the patronage of the great St Joseph, whose intercession and blessing we invoke upon all visitors to our Parish website!
In both sorrow and joy we heed the counsel ‘Ite ad Ioseph’- Go to Joseph!
